Good News to live by–the LORD is King!

Shout with joy to the LORD, O earth!
Worship the LORD with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the LORD is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.
For the LORD is good.
His unfailing love continues for ever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

And I saw another angel flying through the heavens, carrying the everlasting Good News to preach to the people who belong to this world—to every nation, tribe, language, and people. “FEAR GOD,” he shouted.  “Give glory to him.  For the time has come when he will sit as judge.  Worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all the springs of water.”

Let this encourage God’s holy people to endure persecution patiently and remain firm to the end, obeying his commands and trusting in Jesus.—Lord, you are my lawyer!  Plead my case!  For you have redeemed my life—Consequently, [Jesus] is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

The LORD is king!  Let the earth rejoice!

Ps.100 NLT; Rev.14:6,7 NLT; Rev.14:12 NLT; Lam.3:58;  Heb.7:25 ESV; Ps.97:1 NLT

It seems the world is big on ‘justice’ issues these days but not so big on bowing to the ultimate Judge of all the earth. Admittedly, the human heart (mine included) has always had a bent for evaluating life and choices from a pretty limited perspective–its own!  ‘This looks good to me…think I’ll go for it.’  So it is good news that the God who sees all and knows all, the One who created the human heart, all humankind, and the planet we call home, is the one who will bring the ultimate judgment.  But in advance of that He’s given us a way of escape from our own limited (and damning!) views in the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  Sooner or later every tongue will  have to confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. But how much better to live all of life gladly bowing in thanksgiving to His Lordship and care!

Revelling in the relief of His being in charge today,
–Linda
